Have you ever thought about this. I am right now. Can I even define connected for you in this post? Together, knowledge, closeness, instant. This applies to loved ones and it comes from a long conversation with my aunt who lives across the country. We talked about family, love and life. All three, of which, have become disconnected lately. “Hi, how are you? How is work?” My iphone doesn’t leave my hand. I make a point to talk to my distant family member in this city and show interest in their lives, although very different from mine.
I talk to coworkers and friends daily, but are we really connected. How many of them would drive me to rehab? How many of them would even know about rehab?
North America. Advanced. Opportunity. Freedom. These come to mind when I think of my social standing and realize I have every luxury to be the absolute most connected person in this world. Why aren’t I?
In this last thought provoking hour there is one thing I have determined… it’s that I have to know who is.
Who are the most connected people in the world. First one to share this answer with me buy the gin & tonics…

I recently had a very enlightening discussion with my students about this notion. In these times, we are all “connected.” But this doesn’t always make for a strong relationship. Sometimes I feel like I’m losing the skill to have actual conversations with people!
